Boo Blocks

I made a few of these for the family and sold a few as well.  Another quick fun craft for the holiday.   The wooden blocks are from Amazon.  I painted them black with Apple Barrel black acrylic.  I then cut a few frames from my new die from Sizzix Thinlits Leafy Twigs in a couple of different shades … this one is a grey brown textured paper.  Now mind you, when I first used this die I thought it was a one and done.  It was a bear to weed.  I mean it is so intricate and detailed.  But !!!! I think I've used it on several projects now and it quickly became a favorite.   I situated the die cuts on three sides of the block (on some I did 5 sides) and used mod podge to adhere it.   I use my cricut to cut the BOO out of silver cricut vinyl for the one side using the Chiller font.  I grabbed my hubbies drill and went through the sides and then added yarn through.  I separated the blocks with wooden beads that I painted orange acrylic paint and dotted with black and then covered with mod podge to seal it.   I frayed the ends of the yarn for a fun look.

Super easy ... super fun.

Just drying time to take into consideration.

Halloween Pic Frame

This is a bit of a craft that I threw together for the holiday.  Its a picture frame that I can put my Grandbabies pic in costume.  The picture frame itself is from Michaels and it was like $1 if that.  I painted it black with Apple Barrel black.  From there is was a free for all.  I have a couple of pages of patterned paper from Jim Holtz Abandoned pad.   Then I broke out the Sizzix dies.  I used all of Thinlits Mixed Media  and a couple of insects from Thinlits Funky Insects.  I  have a few pieces - snippets from Jim Holtz Idea-Ology for Halloween.  I used crackle paste with Black Soot and Wilted Violet distress ink added   There is some texture paste as well.  There's Neuvo drops in various colors and a paper flower.  All held together with lots of Mod Podge.  Super fun and on my shelf waiting to be filled.

Happy Halloween Y'all ... my favorite holiday.

Always Shine

This was a cute, fun card to make.

CAS is just stressful for me … I constantly want to fill that white space.  The image is from SheepSki designs and is completed with Ohuhu markers.   I ran out of Wink of Stella (I don't know how I managed that) but before that fun stick came to be there was another and I happen to still have a jar of FantastiX ink in Champagne Mist that I covered over the sleeping dragon for that shine.  Besides the coloring, it's just a lavender card stock base.

I'm going to add another close-up of the ink on the dragon so you can really see her shine.

Life Inspired

Its another challenge at USE YOUR STUFF

The theme on this run is "Inspired by Life" I thought .. oh I have something for this for sure.

Before everything went down the skids here, I had this great inspiration to visit all of the LOVE signs in Virginia with my granddaughter (now granddaughters)
 VA LoveWorks.
I thought, there are sooooo many it will take years to get through it and would be a great book to have together. We hit a couple of spots and those pictures just sat in my phone forever. When you're really sick, you have nothing but time to think of 'to-do lists' - 'bucket lists' - 'wish I could or did lists'.

So, this weekend, I went out to Michaels and I bought a scrapbook. Mind you, I haven't done a scrapbook in years. Many, many years.  I'm thinking, yea I got this … and was quick to realize … yea, no you don't.

First things first was to pull the pics off the phone. Well, I did that only to realize I needed to have some in different sizes so back to the app and then back to the store.
Now that I had all the pics it was laying them all out. I'm thinking easy peasy --- a 12x12 space is huge compared to a A2 card and at the same time not big enough LOL. Then there was the 'hey, you need to trim your 12x12 just a wee bit' to fit in the sleeve easily. Yea I forgot that. Then there's the glue ... wholly cannoli you use glue like no tomorrow. Roll that tape runner down 12 inches and it starts squealing back at you LOL.
So, I said to myself,  just jump in -- get the first pages down and we can bob and weave from there and grow with the flow.
I tell ya, scrapbookers out there .. you have it going on !! High Five !!!!!  I'm about to learn from your skills please and thank you.
Here are the first 2 pages with more to come as we travel the state in the maddddd search of fun and adventures.

For the top page, I used a solid background cs in brown from Park Lane and an overlay of printed paper from Recollections.   MFT Heart Shaker Trio die.  Martha Stewart three-dotted punch.  My Favorite Things Double the Love die.  Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  Mermaid Lagoon Distress Spray.  CS in kraft and pale blue.

This page has an orange Recollections base with the pics framed in two shades of yellow.  Spellbinders foliage die and green cs.  MFT Heart Shaker Trio die and a Fiskars heart punch. Some distress carved pumpkin and spiced marmalade.  A  couple of stitched banners from my scrap box tossed in there with some scrap yellow paper cut as banner as well.

Now to hit the road and fill this book up.

Happy Trails

Nutcracker

This is a combo of challenges - one being a color challenge which leads to all of the bright colors- the other challenge is to use a Christmas Movie as inspiration - which would be the 'Nutcracker'.
The image is from Sweet and Sassy and I used markers.  I cut it down with a die from ArtC - Thinking of You set.  I framed that with both the blue and green cs that I rounded the corners with my corner chomper.
The front panel is blue cs and I cut the strip of green and then another piece of green on green gingham paper from Recollections.  I stamped the sentiment in Blueprint Sketch distress and then covered that with clear embossing powder to give it shine.  I cut the edge of the strip with the same die to curve it a bit.  Both sentiments are from ArtC Christmas Joy set. The second sentiment is stamped and then I used white embossing powder.
Everything was stacked onto a bright green cs base and I added some apple green Neuvo drops

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may.

Jingle Belles - Christmas Movie
ABC Christmas - on the side.

Holiday Travel

This was a quick card to put together.  I started with a stamp from Bugaboo and I colored it with markers.
I grabbed a piece of red/white polka dot cs from Simple Stories.  I cut the square hold with MFT square shaker die and frame.  I set the image behind the window and used the red cs frame as well.  I added a pale green bow and then set it all on a red cs base.  The sentiment was cut with a stitched banner die and a larger red one to set behind it.
Super zip-a-dee

Countdown

Well, this is a different type of holiday card that's for sure ... It's a Dr. Digi's digi ... Ambrose at the beach - colored with markers and I cut a Santa hat to put on his head.  To cover the glue seam and a bit of the goggles (lol) I found some fake snow to put on the hat trim -- I totally didn't know if it would work since that pen has been in a draw for a couple of years - but it puffed up fine.
The front panel was stenciled with TH Stampers Anonymous Stencil with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard distress.  I raised the sentiments up off the front panel with dimension tape.
This has got to be the sunniest Christmas card I've ever done LOL

A Merry Little Christmas

In cleaning my room, I never realized how many embossing folders I had for Christmas. Everything old is new again.

So so much ink on this card LOL... I picked a folder from Sizzix on this card.   I wasn't sure which side I wanted so I inked both sides with crushed olive distress and went with the debossed side after.  I then blended peeled paint on the raised surface.   I then took a red marker to all of the berries.  There was sooooo much ink I had to rub glaze over it and set it aside to dry a bit.
I stamped the holiday greeting in ranger jet black and then blended festive berries and cut it with Sizzix scalloped edge circle stack.  The outer scallop has  gold embossing powder around the edge.   I added tan and white bakers twine and bow and raised the circles with dimension tape.
A little bit of bakers twine in a bow.
Everything all on a black base.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Birds of a feather.

This one is for the twofer challenge.   With so so many xmas in july fun I couldn't resist.

This first card is a birthday greeting.  I blended multiple distress inks ( Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin, Fossilized Amber and Mermaid Lagoon through a Ranger Dylusion Stencil,   I cut the oval with a double stitched stack by MFT.   The birds are from Dylusion as well and I colored them with markers.  I set it behind/below the open oval.   The sentiment is from MFT Yay for You and I use Ranger Jet Black.  I added a couple of clear dot neuvo drops for a bit of texture (you can't see them in this pic but they're there) and we'll call this one done.
For this card, I would like to enter the following challenges:

The second one, with the same stamp set, was stamped three times and I fussy cut them out.  The background was inked with multiple distress inks in the same colors as the birds (festive berries, crushed olive, peeled paint).   The stencil is from Dylusions- The sentiment is from ArtC - it went from not being used from the day I bought it in 2019 to a workout this week. Stamped in Ranger jet black.  I added a gold mylar sticker line down the edge of the stencil and the cold mylar sticker hearts near the sentiment.
