Koi for you.

This is my team submission for this weeks challenge at Try Stampin' (or Not) on Tuesday.  The theme this week is to make an oval or round card.

For this card, I started with black card stock and I cut the two ovals using a large oval die.  I then cut two small rectangle pieces to make a hinge on the top (inside).

I cut the Koi using multiple pieces of cs (pink, salmon, black and yellow) with my cricut using the Art Nouveau cartridge.

The sentiment was stamped with a Hampton Arts rubber set using hot pink embossing powder.
I ran faux stitching around the edge with a hot pink gel pen.

The inside of the card I cut 2 ovals in the next size down in the die set to glue over the exposed hinges and for writing.
To my surprise, this card fits perfectly into an A2 envelope.

Thank you for stopping by.  I'm still on vacation, but I had these all ready to go for you.

Wishing you a fantastic day and thank you for stopping by!  Feel free to comment  - I would love to hear from you.

Friends are flowers

Hello from the design team  at the Brown Sugar Challenge.  The theme this week is USE A DIE CUT and our sponsor this week is

For this card, I started with the image on white cs where I colored by blending colored pencils.  Using green cs, I printed the sentiment in an offset arc and then using an oval die set, I cut a hole for the inage.    I used a MS edge punch.  I adhered this all onto darker blue cs ... I set it all asymmetrical and added the paperflowers.

I hope you have fun playing along.

Thanks for stopping by ...

Have a great day.

Sun Rays

This is my deesign team card for Try Stampin' (or Not) on Tuesdays - what a fun sketch (shown below) and to go with that there is a theme of 'a ray of sunshine'.  That is exactly what I am headed for too ... the Bahamas .... and pure sunshine and a well needed vacation ....  yea buddy !!

For this card I started with watercolor paper and water colored the rays from the corner.  I cut the short paper rays from orange cs with my Cricut and the Accent Essentials cartridge.  I hand punched the circle in a lighter shade of yellow cs.
The stamped clouds are from a stamp set from Neat and Tangled and I stamped them with Spiced Marmalade and  Scattered Straw and fussy cut them from the white cs and used dimensional squares to pop one over the other.
The sentiment comes from the same stamp set and I used Spiced Marmalade with clear embossing powder.

Here is the sketch for this week at Try Stamping (or not) on Tuesday.

Floral Bouquet

Welcome ... I totally forgot to post this one. It was right in the middle of my crazy tooth problem.
This is for a new group that just started up.
Stinking Inkers  and as a member of the design team, I would love to welcome you.
It's a monthly challenge and we would love to have you play along.  This months challenge is "Showers of Flowers" ... bring up the buds!

I started with a Fiskars stamp set 'Petals from Scratch" and then I blended with Spun Sugar, Warn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry and then hand painted the petals with same.     I used a marker for the flower centers.
I cut gray cs for the side panel and then used a MS edge punch for the scallops.   The sentiment was a Hampton Arts rubber stamp with silver embossing powder.
Pink dotted satin ribbon down the side and some white paper flowers to finish it off.
All of this on a grey top fold base.

This is for a coworker who was just in a bad car accident.  Sending it off to cheer her up.

4 cowboy ....

This is a birthday card for a sweet boy and yes, he's turning 4.
I started out with a stamp image by Bugaboo Stamps using colored pencils to finish off the image.
I cut the frame on tan cs using nesting rectangles and then used walnut stain and vintage photo inks to smudge it.
The number 4 was cut with my Cricut using the Plantin School cartridge.
The designer paper was found in my scrap box and I don't remember who it is by and was set on the tan cs.
This was all set onto Kraft cs that I ran through my Cuttlebug using a woodgrain folder.
Brown and tan twine to hold it all together all on a top fold Kraft cs base.

Super fun.  Can't wait to send it to him
