Hippo Birthday

Hello everyone from
Try Stamping (or Not) on Tuesday.

The challenge this week is a sketch challenge - see below with embossing.

For my card, I started with a digi stamp from QKR Stampede and I used colored pencils.
I trimmed it down and then used a scalloped circle die from Sizzix.  I then cut another scallop larger to frame out the image.
Following the sketch, I cut a piece of grey, blue and white paper from Recollections.  I cut the flags on the side from light blue and grey cs. I stamped the sentiment with glitter blue embossing powder from Simon Says and then ran faux stitching with a white gel pen.  I tagged them all together with a cream flower metal brad.  The front panel was cut and embossed with a swirl folder from Sizzix and every thing was mounted on a grey side fold base.
So cute.

Here is the sketch for the challenge.

I hope you have fun working with this challenge.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR

For my design team card I went with the 'CUTTING CAFE'

Using orange, black and lime green card stock, I cut the bases.  I then grabbed a couple of designer sheets from a Halloween pad that I got after season  last year (incredible sale) by Recollections  that I've been chomping at the bit to use.  On the top layers of BOO I had faux stitched one with a white gel pen and the other I spritzed with Tsukineko Sparkle Shimmer Mist in gold
I stamped, colored and cut the monsters from Lawn Fawn and attached them with dimensional squares to each card and they are as cute as can be.
Here are the cards individually ....

From vellum, I stamped the 'happy birthday' from Stampendous with Hot Pink embossing powder and then attached a bright pink star to the vellum as well.  I topped that star with glossy accents.  I wrapped the vellum around the panel front and then attached the whole piece to a top fold lime green cs base.

Giraffes

Hello everyone.
It another Technique Challenge at Try Stamping (or not) on Tuesday.

This months challenge is Fancy Folds.

I have chosen an interior pop out (expansion) card for this challenge.

I started with a digi stamp by Bugaboo - Giraffe Blocks. .  I colored them all in colored pencils on this run.
For the image on the front cover, I edged it as well with Vintage Photo and Tea Stain distress ink and then wrapped it with brown and white twine.
The paper is by Recollections and I have Neuvo drops scattered in cream.

The interior digi's were all in colored pencil as well with the exception of the little lady bug.  She's in ink to pop her out.
The sentiment is stamped with two different sets: one from Inkadinkado and the other with a stamp from the bargain bin (I swear the stamps in the bargain bin just call to me 'please take me home') - With both I used Walnut Stain distress ink and clear embossing powder to shine it up and make it stand out.
The mechanics of the card are all with Kraft cs and the interior lining is with the same paper as the front to tie it all together.
I edged the folded center with faux stitching and a white gel pen.

It all folds and twists down into a standard A2.

Hello everyone
I have an amazing challenge for you from
The Crafters Cafe Challenge.

The theme is THREE OF SOMETHING.

We have three sponsors for this challenge:
Dr. Digi's House of Stamps
QKR Stampede
Knitty Kitty Digi's

For my card, I'm working with QKR Stampede and the image is Prize Pumpkin.    I colored the image with colored pencils and then trimmed it down and framed it with black cs.  I then cut down a piece of kraft cs and ran that through my machine with a basket weave folder from We are memory Keepers and then I cut the edge with a pair of fancy edge scissors that I've had for a very very long time.  I added brown and white twine around the side.
I cut down a piece of black cs for the front panel and covered that with fall leaves paper and then added the piece to the panel.  Now it was time to add it all on to a kraft side fold cs base.
I added three orange buttons to the front to finish off the theme.
I hope you have fun playing along and I wish you luck as well.
