Birthday Girl

This a card for a special little girl in my life.

It started as a single layer card.  I ran it through the cuttlebug and it didn't get all the way to the edge like I would  have liked.
After the embossing, I blended my collection of Holtz distress inks all over and then added coordinating sequins in the flower centers.
I stamped the Birthday sentiment (Tim Holtz) onto velum paper with tuxedo black and clear embossing powder and gave it a bit of a tail.  I added the pink polka dot washi tape along the edge to cover that gap of the embossing folder and to cover the adhesive for the banner.  I gave the card a full edge of picked raspberry to pull the cloth tape together.
So much fun for a little girl.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Friends

Starting with white card stock ...  trimmed the corners with a chomper (cloud).  I then cut the diamonds with my cricut out of the mint green stock and the gold polka dot patterned paper and set those up together.  I cut 2 circles, one in white and one in mint green.  With the white I edged that with Gold embossing powder and with the green I stamped the sentiment "friends are the best medicine" in gold embossing powder.  I mounted that with dimensional tape and fixed the whole kit and caboodle onto mint green card stock.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

Thinking of you spring time.

Working with the sketch challenge Stamping on Tuesday.   I started on white card stock and put some distressed ink ( mustard seed, picked raspberry and seedless preserves) on my warm sheet, added water and dragged the paper through the ink.  I dried it well with my heat gun and the stamped the flower silhouette    On another piece of white I cut the three squares and taped that to the inked piece. I stamped the  sentiment on a piece of pink scrap and cut tails and attached that with some dimensional tape.  Added a couple of paper flowers to ties it all together and mounted it on a pale pink card base.
I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Just Us Girls.  Pink, purple and yellow.
Through the Purple Haze = Flowers
Four crafty chicks = Less is More.

Focusing on two challenges at once - Freshly Made Sketches and the Color Throwdown.  I started with white card stock and smudged mermaid lagoon and cracked pistachio distressed ink.  I then stamped the dragonflies.  On another piece of white I cut the diamonds as per sketch requirements.  I stamped the sentiment and heat set that with Gold embossing powder and then added the gold ribbon.  I set the cut piece onto the smudged piece with dimensional tape and then onto a white card base.

DoodleBow

This started out as a stamp piece that transformed.  Originally I was using a stamp set and then got caught on the phone for a while and started googling then I started to scribble on my paper.  Suddenly "light bulb"   I ran out at lunch and grabbed a small water color pad.  When I got back, I doodled the same I had before on this on this piece with pencil. I then took a fine tip  sharpie and went over the pencil.

I brought it home - cleaned up the pencil and whipped out the water colors.
I trimmed it down, mounted it in black to frame it with dimensional tap and adhered to white card stock.  The blue pearls I've had forever - they are so old I had a hard time getting them off the package.  They're Queen&Co.  Fast and fun.

I'm going to attempt to do this on my phone again.  I haven't had the best of luck - keeping my fingers crossed. I'll have to fix my typos later.  Lol.  I have no idea what this post is going to look like - there is no preview - so let's just jump into the deep end shall we.

I would like to add this to the following challenges if I can figure it out on this thing:
CASology: Doodle   (FIXED)
Curtain Call : Rainbow (I'll have to figure out how to grab that inspiration piece) used a screen shot but it's huge.  It'll have to do for now 👍🏼😳😜

Home Sweet Home

This card is for my good friend's daughter who has her very first place to call home and to display her Flamingos LOL.
It was work for sure, since I started cutting incorrectly (I have multiple pieces of that bird at hand now) and then I couldn't find any yellow in my stash at all.  Luckily I found a small scrap piece in the scrap box large enough to cut the legs and beak.  The bird itself is 5 layers starting with the base of three because I wanted to pull it up from the card but I knew dimensional tape wouldn't work so I stacked the base.  I stamped the sentiment in Picked Raspberry Distressed Ink and heat set it with clear embossing powder.  I cut the circle and used the new acetate by Recollections with Flamingos printed on it.  Dropped in blue and white glitter and pink and purple sequins for the shake and then closed it with a lite pink backing.  This was all smooshed together with dimensional tape and then mounted onto a dark pink base.     Between the bird the multi layers of the shake and the base, I have 9 layers in all.
I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:
4 Crafty Chicks = use 7 layers
Just Us Girls =  Shaker Card JUGS323.
Dragonfly Dreams = Use a die cut.

(PS second time I'm putting those links in .... blogger troubles all week ... blaaaa)

Just 4 U

Working with the Colour Q and Freshly Made Sketches challenge,  I have worked up this card Just for you.
Starting with a card base in white and the first layer in white, I blended Distressed Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Crushed Pistachio and Abandoned Coral using water, drying, water again.  I cut it to fit the base and with the left over I cut a circle.
With Green textured card stock from DCWV and did a cut with my Cricut using Accent Essentials to cut that accent piece which I trimmed down to fit by cutting off half of the ... the ... tentacles?  I fixed the cut circle on that and dotted stitching with a black marker.
I used coral card stock to stamp the sentiment and then ran that through the Cuttlebug with a Swiss Dot folder.
I found matching blue organza ribbon in my ribbon stash that matched perfect. I added to metal brads in blue and green to the ribbon just to make sure that there would be no problem with it bouncing around.   Using dimensional tape I stacked it all together.
I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

Color Q = Colors Coral, Blue, Mint Green, and a Citrus Green.

Freshly Made Sketches = Sketch #227

Happy Little Stampers = Mixed Media Water Challenge.
Dragonfly Dreams = Use a die cut.

Thank you and Have a great day.

Gold

This was a bit of a challenge both the card and posting this.  I'm not liking the App version of this at all.  Far too much work honestly but I didn't have my laptop with me.   It won't even let me edit it after the fact  - so it is what it is.
I started with that piece of left over pink and gold polka dot I had.  I needed that swish so I went for gold embossing powder.  I put a drop of embossing liquid (re-inker) and filled my watercolor brush and went with a bit of a stroke.  Covered that with gold powder and heat set. I cut the hugs using Simon Says big hugs die and then finished it off with a gold bow.

I would like to add the to the following challenges:

 CAS this Sketch: Sketch #163

Fab and Funky: Use scraps
Addicted to Stamps and More: Clean and Simple

Thank you very much

Krafted ....

I have inspiration from  a few challenges for this one starting with Waffle Flower and the basket of flowers.   Starting with watercolor paper, I stamped the flowers using StayzOn black and then used my watercolor pencils to color them in.  I blended the background with water colors AND distressed inks and let the dry well.
Using Kraft card stock I cut the circle in the middle and then ran it through my Cricut with a small flower folder.
Using my everlasting sheet of velum that I continue to strip into pieces I stamped the sentiment and covered it in clear embossing powder.  I added a paper flower in yellow on top and highlighted the flower center with watercolors.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Waffle Flower = thank you for the inspiration picture

Tanks Bunches

For this card I used a combo color challenge for three awesome challenges  (orange yellow green white) - all of these groups were on the same page.   I blended Distressed Inks in Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber, Antique Linen and Peeled Paint over white card stock using a stencil.  I cut the top border from DCWV textured card stock in green and used Martha's lace edge punch and adhered that to the top edge.  Next, from a piece of scrap vellum I stamped the sentiment in StayzOn Green and coated with clear embossing powder to give it shine. All glued down with my ATG and then added 3 orange sequins to the lower corner.
I would like to add this card in the following challenges:

Less is More - A bit of citrus, (Orange, Lemon, Lime)
Color Throw Down  - Color Challenge
My Favorite Things - Yellow, Sour Apple Green, Tan.

Have a fantastic Friday everyone.

Super Star

Super Star Birthday.  The BIG 90.
I am using the sketch for Sketch Saturday for this card.

Using a piece of leftover scrap as background (grey and blue circles) -- I also cut the 90 with my circuit (Plantin Schoolhouse). From Kraft paper, I cut the tag with the same cartridge and then ran that through my cuttlebug using a wood grain embossing folder. Adding a piece of pale blue organza ribbon.
From scraps of grey card stock, I cut three stars again using that same cartridge and stacked them on top of each other and then covered them with silver Stickles.
From that same grey card stock I printed the sentiment and then covered the whole flag with glossy accents for shine.
Using my ATG and foam squares it was all assembled together onto a grey card stock base only to realize that I put the dang thing on upside down. Thank goodness I was able to put it back off and I made a new base.   Man, I'm telling ya, never a dull moment.

I would like to add this card to the following challenge quests if I may:

Sketch Saturday #402

Fab and Funky:  Using your scrappy pieces.
Creative Fingers: Anything Goes.

Thank you very much!

Green Chips.

A touch of green in the chips.

The challenge is to use paint chips for this one.  I'm using Olympic C68-1 through C68-6 for this.  They are Milkweed, Pale Moss, Quaking Grass, Guacamole, Moss Point and Globe Artichoke. Chopping them up to size so that they fit as needed.  I stamped the sentiment using StazOn Forrest Green on cream card stock base.  From the scraps left over, I popped a handful of stars with a small Fiskars punch.  I then cut 3 larger stars with my Cricut (Plantin Schoolhouse) and stacked them on top of each other to give that star some depth as well as adhering it with dimensional tape.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

Die Cuttin' Divas : #256 and a big thank you for the inspiration of the use of chips.  I haven't opened that box in a very long time.  I actually forgot they were there.

Printed Acetate find ....

I had to run to Michael's for some ink I needed right away.  Found out they have a sale on these very cool acetate 12x12 sheets from Recollections (Michael's Brand) for 99 cents in an abundance of yummy goodness.
Did I mention that they're all individually wrapped too!

Ohhhhhh, 4 of them had to go home with me right away.  Not to mention I have a coupon for this afternoon for 20% off total purchase including sales items.  I just may have to make it a point to go after work for more ....

I see some very cute shaker cards in the making in my very near future.

What's Peeping?

A cute Easter card ... using Simon Says Peeps die -  I cut a bunch of small peeps in yellow and pink and then covered them in super fine glitter in matching colors.  I cut a large peep in lime green and then covered him in matching fine glitter as well.
I edged the entire card with Picked Raspberry Distress and adhered the larger bunny with dimensional squares to lift it up.
It was a glitter mess ... it's still everywhere - the glitter that is ... but it was a lot of fun and cute enough to eat.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:
