Happy Beeeee Day

Hello Everyone
from the Design Team of
If You Give a Crafter a Cookie

OUR SPONSOR FOR THIS CHALLENGE IS
ONE OF MY FAVORITES

For my card, I colored the image with distressed inks and a waterbrush, colored pencils and markers.  I also added wink of stella to the wings for special flight enhancements.
I then cut the image with my stitched oval dies also cutting a much larger one out of yellow cs and edging that with Vintage Photo distress ink.  The bottom strip was edge punched with a Martha punch.  The paper is from American Craft.   The "B" was cut with my cricut using the Plantin Schoolhouse font letters out of the same paper and a shadow cut with black cs.  The Happy and Day were stamped, trimmed and then added with dimension tape.   Paper flowers in the corners and a couple of drops of Neuvo in orange as well.

Thanks for stopping by

mom

Hello from the Design Team of

with a twist of Mother's Day.

For my card, I started with pink cs for the front and ran that through my bug with a swiss dot folder.  The frame was cut out of purple cs with my cricut and the Cindy Loo cartridge.  The inside of paper of the frame is from DSW and has glitter swirls as well.  The flag is cut by hand with a lime green cs.  The circles are cut with my stacked circle dies the larger one in hot pink cs and the smaller one from florescent yellow cs.  The mom was cut with the hot pink cs with my cricut with a free hand font. I ran white faux stitching around the frame. Rounded off the corners with my chomper and drops some soft pink Neuvo in the corner and around the petals.

Here is the sketch for the challenge:

A Mother's Love ............

Hello from the design team  at the
Brown Sugar Challenge.
The theme this month is
 Mother's Day or Pearls
and our sponsor this week is

For my card, I worked the image from Crafty Sentiments with both colored pencils and markers and a bit of a 'wink of stella' in all of the hearts.   I cut the circle with a circle die from a piece of baby blue card stock and then ran that through my machine with a Swiss Dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  With another piece of light blue card stock, I cut it down to fit along the edge and then trimmed it with a Martha Steward scallop and dot edge punch.  Next, a piece of white gross-grain ribbon tied on the side and all mounted onto yet another shade of blue card stock.  Some pretty paper flowers in the corner and it's all set to go.
I hope you'll give the challenge a try and I want to wish you luck in the prize.

Hatch Day

Hello Everyone, this is my design team contribution for
The Theme this month is 'Ducks and/or Bunnies'

The digi stamp is 'Duckie in Egg'
 from Pattie's Creations.

The digi stamp was colored with markers and distress ink.  I used a water brush to ink the egg to give it that mottled look using Tea Dye, Antique Linen and Old Paper.  The duckie was colored with marker.  After it all dried completely, I fussy cut.
The circles were cut with my stacked dies.  Both patterned papers are from Recollections.  The  bottom plaid paper was cut with a Fiskars scallop edge punch.   The sentiment is computer generated.  The inner circle is hand stitched with an orange marker.
All assembled and trimmed onto an orange base.
The pale yellow satin bow and paper flowers finish the look.
Everything set on an orange side fold base.

Varrrrooooom

Hello from the design team of
The Theme for this challenge is
TRAVEL

Our sponsor for this round is  The Cutting Cafe,

For this card, -   I cut the pieces from the .pdf/.svg file from the CUTTING CAFE.  I cut all three car images from card stock and paper.  The card base (that folds)  is from grey cs.  The card front is from black cs and the pattern paper is from Recollections (All Occasions Paper Pad).  The tires and windows were cut from cream cs to coordinate with the pattern paper.  Glued according to image placement.  Using a My Favorite Things die 'Hooray' I cut from black cs ... I curved that over the rear tire and used one of the pieces from the set to connect that across the car.  Once dry, I covered that  Ranger gold glitter Stickles,  The inside of the card was stamped with a Recollections Birthday Doodle set and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

For the image - from the Cutting Cafe -  I used markers.  I trimmed it down and rounded off the top corners.  I then mounted that onto a piece of grey card stock.   The printed paper is from recollections and I used a stitched curvy edge die on it.  With kraft card stock, I cut the front panel and then put it on my scoreboard and ran lines for some texture.  I glued the printed paper to the bottom of the kraft rounded off the corners with a corner punch and  then used dimensional tape to mount the graphic in the top corner.  I added two large white acrylic dots and a few clear Nuvo drops to fill that space.

Gate fold

Hello everyone ....

This is my card for the challenge at
Try Stampin' - or not- on Tuesday

We are having a sketch challenge this week with an optional twist of a gate fold card.

For this card, I started with black card stock and folded to allow the gate fold.
The pale blue and white patterned paper is by American Craft.
The square and square frame were cut using a My Favorite Things die out of black and pale blue card stock. I turned the two to form a diamond to go with the card stock.  The two pieces inter lock each other.
The stamp on the center (1/4 moon in a triangle)  in the center of the blue block is from Hampton Arts and I used VersaMark and white embossing powder.

On the inside, I used the same patterned paper on the side panels and then stamped the sentiment with a Hampton Arts stamp, VersaMark ink and white embossing powder.

Looking forward to what you come up and play along with us.

April Single Layer

This is my team card for
Stinkin' Inkers.
The theme this month is
Simply Made
create a single layer card

Single layer cards stress me out.  I'm so afraid to mess it up somehow.
For this one ... I started off by masking the back part of the card just in case I got a bit too liberal with the blender.
I then stamped using a Tim Holtz die 'just celebrate' with silver embossing powder and heat set that.  I then stamped the same thing onto a piece of post-it and then trimmed in way down to make a mask over the sentiment.
I then placed a doily type stencil over the bottom right corner of the card.
I blended Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers up from the corner.
I  removed the stencil and the mask over the sentiment and then topped it off with a couple of sequins and green Nuvo drop in the flower centers.
The only full butterfly in the piece was topped with a wink of stella to pull it out of the mix a bit.

Here are some shots of the journey:

Thanks for popping by and I hope you join in on the fun with us at Stinkin' Stampers.

I used color pencils of the image.  I cut it down and framed it with dark purple cs.  The background paper was from a piece of scrap in my stash ... pansies of course in the same shades of purple, blue and yellow.
With that mint satin bow around the bottom.
All attached to a dark purple side fold base.

Green Butterflies

 Hello everyone,

This is my Design Team card for the monthly
 Technique Challenge at

Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday.

The challenge technique this month is partial die cutting.
For my card I picked my butterfly dies from Simon Says - Devonshire and Paulina for this challenge.
I set up my card stock for a Z fold card and laid the dies where I wanted them.  I cut one out of scrap to use as a stencil and then put that on my base and blended Peacock Feathers, Mowed Grass and Twisted Citron onto the card.

I then measured and masked off the space that would be exposed on the other side of the card and using the 'bubbles rising' stencil from Kaiser Craft used Heidi Swapp's Metallic paste in Mint Green.  I let both sections dry for a bit. I then blended Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough over the paste and then removed the masks.
From dark green cs I cut the Paulina part of the die and a couple of strips and a frame for the sentiment.
I then - using the partial die cutting technique - cut the devonshire flies from the base by laying them directly over the blended butterflies.  Once cut, I added the Paulina cuts over the partial cuts with glue.

One the inside (which is hidden when the card is closed), I added the wider stripe on one side and the framed  sentiment which was edged in Evergreen Bough on the other.

I added two stripes to the front in different shades of green cs and then added green and teal sequins and Nuvo drops in lime green over the butterflies and clear drops in the corners.

If you've never tried partial die cutting before, there's a great tutorial that you can follow on
Try Stamping (or not) on Tuesday's blog.

Give it a try and post your work.  We'd love to see it.
