Nouveau Butterflies ....

I was given a new cartridge for my cricut that I wanted to try out.  Art Nouveau, lots of layering involved.  I put together a couple of cards ......
Using recollections card stock in green, red, blue and black: I constructed the butterfly with multiple layers.  I added embossing powder in blue and red sparkles to accent the wings a bit.  The sentiment was stamped with white embossing powder onto black recollection stock. The card base, was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and the fly and sentiment attached with dimensional squares. White jell pen outline stitching.

Using the same card stock as above, just using a different size for the butterfly and using the scraps to create a layer effect while using my Fiskers edger.  The white jell pen was getting a work out .... the Sentiment stamped with white embossing powder and an added purple ribbon for a hug.

I adding these both to Chromatic Craze Challenge
using these colors

I think I'm going to like working with this cartridge.

Thanks for looking.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone ... this was a winning entry in CAS on Sunday and I just fell in love with it and had to give it a whirl ... designed by Betty ... it was fun to recreate.
I found that when I  used the liquid glue to attach the box, it began to warp on me so I used scor tape to secure the box to the card.  A gift card fits perfectly in there and there's one for each of the crew.

Singles ...

All the single layers (All the single layers)
All the single layers (All the single layers)
All the single layers (All the single layers)
All the single layers
Now put your hands up

Now put your hands up if they stress you out!  LOL! I have no clue as to why either.  I just draw a blank.  I sit there in my goodies and look and look and look and I just don't see it.  It takes so long to work it through ... whew!
So this is black card stock with an Hero Arts stamp for the G Clef and a Fiskars stamp for the sentiment.  Embossed in white ... for a friend that is stuck in all this snow.
I'm posting this in Less is More One Layer Week #158

Thanks for taking a peek.  Have a great week.

Baby Book

I finally did it.  I created my first Baby Book and this one is heading out as a gift for my nephew and niece in law,  who is expecting any minute now.  The book itself is made of chip board and the printed papers are all from 'mambi sheets' Baby Boy and the solids are Recollections card stock.  I also grabbed some puffy embellishments from Recollections and of course used my Cricut.  I am just super excited at how it came out.
There are 6 pages in the book itself and each page as 7 areas where there is either a photo mat or a place to journal.

I can't wait to get this in the mail for them.  Hopefully they'll arrive at the same time.
Thanks for looking.

Follow your dreams ....

This one is for my daughter, who is overseas performing and also for Less is More who is celebrating their 3rd birthday.  The challenge for the week is rainbow.  I found the rainbow musical ribbon in my ribbon drawer and pulled my inspiration from that.   The paper is Recollections and I embossed the music onto white card stock.   The stars are punched from paint chips.  This one is going in the mail on Monday!
A perfect pick me up for the both of us.  Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Super Bowl.  May your team win!

First Jump

So ... as we all have to jump in sooner or later ... here is my jump.  Just using what I happen to have out too.  Just stuff that was in my scrap box and on my desk.  I took a piece of Recollections's Black and White and dredged it through some Distress Inks.  Broken China, Peeled Paint and Wild Honey.  I anchored that onto some textured card stock I believe is Recollections in olive green.  I then used the soft brown Offray ribbon and stamped in gun metal embossing powder.  I also used my Fiskars scalloped edge.
Whew.
I feel like I just joined a crafters anonymous group and made my introduction. 'Hello, my name is Dawn and I'm a craftaholic.  I suffer from Procraftinating which is working on craft projects when you should be cleaning house, doing laundry or making dinner.
Here is a card for Chromatic Craze using these colors.

Thank you bunches and I hope I did this right ... eeeeek.
