Grads

Hello from the design team

Give a Crafter a Cookie
The theme this round is

 Graduation

and our sponsor this round is

For the image I blended color pencils and markers   I added the date on top to make it current and used school colors.  I used a round die to cut the image and blended distress ink along the edge . The block patterned paper is from Recollections.   The front panel is silver card stock.  The added crystal stone drops and flowers in the school colors filled the space.
Looks like I need to sharpen my corner chopper as well.

I wish you all the best of luck if you're playing along and I can't wait to see your creations.

Have a great crafting day.

Mermaid

Hello everyone from the Design Team at

The challenge this week is a sketch (see below) with a optional theme of Crazy Critter and I chose the crab.

For my card, I started with white CS and blended distress inks in blues for the water, Salty Ocean, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass.  I then used my oval dies to cut two, one from the inked paper and one a little larger from pale blue cs to frame it.
The mermaid image is from Aurora Wings and the crab image is from Drawn by Krista.   I used colored pencils, markers and distress ink on both images and topped the mermaid with Wink of Stella. I fussy cut them both out.
The bottom paper is a scrap piece I have left over from DCW and the top piece is blue cs with a faux stitched edge in gold gel pen.  The sentiment is sponge edged with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.  A cluster of navy Neuvo drops on the edge to finish it off.

Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge:

A couple of coordinating button and some crystal stone drops for additional fun.

Purple Wishes ......

Hello from the Design Team of

with a twist of shades of all one color.
I chose Purple

For my card I chose two different shades of purple card stock and a printed stripe piece from Recollections.
I ran the lighter shade through my machine with a We Are Memory Keepers - basket weave embossing folder.
The paper on the bottom and a satin ribbon to divide them both.  The oval frame was cut with my Circut and the stamp was Concord Distress Ink with clear embossing powder using a stamp set by Stampalicious.  A few paper flowers for accents and the card is ready to send.

I hope you'll all play along with us at
'Try Stampin' or not on Tuesday.

Here is the sketch for you to follow along.

Thinking of you

Hello from the design team  at the
Brown Sugar Challenge.
The theme this month is
 Father's Day or Masculine
and our sponsor this week is

My card is a stretch for the theme but the image is from Mari Ko Creations.   I used water colors for the flower and leaves and blended the colors.  For the background of the image,  I used grey and blue colored pencils and a blender stick and a bit of Vaseline .   The butterfly is cut using a My Favorite Things die out of designer patterned paper by DCW that is iridescent.   I mounted that onto a blue paint chip from the local hardware store and then onto patterned paper from Recollections.  All of that mounted onto a pale blue side fold cs base.  I added a couple of paper flowers in the corner to fill that space.

I hope you have fun playing along in the challenge.  I wish you the best of luck.

Have a great crafting day !

For the image I used water color and blended to brown.  For the wings, they are totally a wink of stella and no color.  I trimmed the image and set it on a soft green paint chip from the hardware store. I tied the soft green satin ribbon around this piece.  I then trimmed down the tag behind that from kraft cs and stamped with black StazOn using a stamp set by Stampalicious.  The patterned paper is from Recollections. All set on top of a top fold soft blue cs base.
I dropped some robin egg blue neuvo drops across the top of the kraft cs.
I love the glistening wings with the wink of stella.

I wish you all the best of luck if you're playing along and I can't wait to see your creations.

Have a great crafting day.

Daffodils

Hello Everyone, this is my design team contribution for
The Theme this month is "FLOWERS'

The digi stamp is "Daffodils Circle Scroll"
 from Pattie's Creations.

For this card ... this is pretty much a single layer. I cut a large circle to use as a mask and then I blended distressed inks all around the scroll in Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold and Carved Pumpkin directly onto the image.  The flower petals of the daffodil I used markers and then hit them with a Wink of Stella.
I added the peach, orange and white gross-gran ribbon across the bottom and then some gold and orange sequins in the corners and a couple of orange Nuvo drops

Thank you so very much for stopping by.  I do hope you'll play with us at Pattie's Creations.  Let's see your beautiful flowers for the month of May.

Happy Crafting

Mommie

   Hello again
This is my Design Team card for
The theme this month is
Lace and Pearls/Mom's Day

For my card, I started with a pink tag with a precut heart in the corner. I first layer on the tag, I used a flower stencil and Picked Raspberry distressed ink.  The next layer was another stencil, rising bubbles and gold Heidi glaze.  I used a piece of scrap white and a printed 'mom' with scroll work on either side.  I cut that down and then used a water brush and painted Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry over it and attached it to the tag.  I then edged the tag with Picked Raspberry ink.  I set that aside to dry.
For the front panel, I cut a piece of pink and white dotted card stock and edged that with a scallop punch from Martha Stewart.  I then grabbed a piece of cream card stock and punched a all around punch from martha stewart and edged that with Antique Linen.  I added that to the pink and white polka dot front.  I wrapped all of that with a cream lace ribbon.
Out of brown cs I cut the scrip Yay  a couple of times and stacked them together and added a wink of stella to shine it up.
Now to put them all together.  I used a side fold pink base and edged that with Picked Raspberry.  Next attached the dotted front with the scallop edge.  Now the tag: I added a pink satin ribbon to the hole punch and then attached the tag on an angle.  I then attached the Yay to the bottom.
Time to bling:  I added pink Nuvo drops into the heart, scattered paper flowers from Recollections and more cream Nuvo drops on the top and bottom edge.

I hope you give the challenge a try and play along with us at Through the Purple Haze.
Have a great crafting day.

Color Resist

Hello Everyone,
It is my turn for the monthly technique challenge.
at
Try Stampin - or not - on Tuesday

I am going to share with you -- color resist -- to try this month.
Now, you can use embossing powders and masks to hide where you want to avoid color but we're going to use a white crayon.
I like to use this technique when I'm on the go and don't have access to my craft room tools or heat gun.
It's just a dollar store crayon, nothing fancy at all.
You're going to need some ink to blend and a blending tool and a fun stamp.
I tend to work with flowers when using this technique and white card stock.  But I guess with the right choice of inks you could work with colored stock as well.
The stamp I'm using I got at Michael's during their 50% off stamp sale and it's by Cam & Chloe.
Stamp your image so you get a nice bold/clean impression and let it dry.  (I used StazOn only because my other ink pad needs to be reinked)

Then just color in the areas you want to resist with your white crayon.
I'm going to color in the flower centers and petals.  It's that easy.

You may need to tilt the paper in the light to make sure you have all the coverage you want, white on white can be hard to see under certain lighting.

Once you have everything covered that you want, let the color flow with your ink.

I'm going to use Distress Inks: Antique Linen,  Tumbled Glass and Shaded Lilac on one -- Fossilized Amber, Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick on the other --- just to give you two different looks on the same stamp.

This technique is great for single layer cards too where you mask off the area and stamp, color and blend.. because you're not using a heat gun, the paper won't warp on you at all.

Once you're done and have the coverage you want - take a paper towel and wipe over your piece ...

just trim it down (or not - if you masked it off) and add it to your fun.

I can't wait to see what you share with this .... let's have some fun!!

Here are my finished cards for this project

Have FUN !!

Rain Boot

This is my design team card for
and the theme this month is
APRIL SHOWERS
BRING MAY FLOWERS
*** show us your flowers ***

This is a Bugaboo Stamp and I used both markers and colored pencils on it.
The sentiment was bent around the stamp.  Wink of Stella was brushed in the flower centers, the butterfly, dragonfly and lady bug.
Some drops of Nuvo in clear in the corners.
This was set on a black front to frame it all and then onto a lavender top fold card base.

I hope you'll play along with us on this challenge.  Flowers are my favorite to color.

Thanks for stopping by.
Have an awesome day.
