Holiday Card

So it has been absolutely crazy ... I lost my craft room for a while there to temporary storage of furniture and my beautiful grand baby made her grand entry of Joy and Happiness right there at the beginning.
Then we have the holiday madness itself .. from concert to party to party to concert.  It has been crazy to say the least. I lost count on how many large bows I made this month for trees, wreaths and railings - my fingers were numb for a while.
Oh and not to forget there was a car accident in there somewhere too ... on the interstate.   Still an insurance nightmare.

BUT ... it's all coming to a final hurrah as we enter  into 2018 and I'm looking forward to it.

This was my holiday card for the office another whirlwind of an adventure.

Dry Emboss, Heat Emboss, Die cut with a stitched curve, machine cut snowflake dipped in glitter, grosgrain bow - screams holiday fun.  ---- 32 made -----

I wasn't going to participate in the festivities (I was just too stressed with the accident), but my hubby got the best of me and well ... challenge accepted.  There was a decorating contest along with other craziness ... cookies, candy and potlucks - oh my.  Then the card to match it all.

So with that ... my section won the contest ...

amazing what a bit of paper, glitter, glue and string can do ...
others asked where I bought the banner ... like huh?

Looking forward to
2018 to be fierce!!

lets do this ...

bring on the crafty fun !!

BOOOOoooooo

October 24

This is my design team card for Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday.  The sketch is below and the theme is HALLOWEEN.

I started with a Halloween pad from Recollections choosing the embossed bats on red and the purple potion.  The moon was also pulled from the pad.
I cut the bat background to fit on the black top fold cs base.  I then followed the sketch to add the purple square.  The ribbon is left over from last Halloween as well as the piece of pick from a wreath I made.    The letters were cut from black cs using my cricut and the Lyrical Letters cartridge.  So much fun and very festive.

Here is the sketch for the week

I hope you have fun playing along as well.

Kittah in Autumn

October 17

This is my design team card for Try Stampin (or not) on Tuesday.  The sketch for this week is below an the theme is LEAVES.
I have to admit, I just had to use that stripe of kitty heads.  I just didn't have the heart to toss it and I  knew it wouldn't last in my stash anywhere.
So, I started with two shades of brown card stock for the base and background.
For the leaves, I blended Vintage Photo, Spiced Marmalade and Brushed Corduroy on yellow and orange cs.  I cut them out using Spell Binders dies 'Foliage".  I then inked the edges with walnut stain.
The cute little kitty was stamped with Simon Says stamp and die set.  I colored the kitty by brushing in distressed inks.
The stripe of kitty heads that I so love is from an American Craft pad.

Monster Hugs

Stinkin Inkers October

Hello everyone.  This is my design team card for Stinkn' Inkers.   The theme this month is Monsters.

For this card, I started with a piece of white cs and I blended Blue Print Sketch, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord and Black Soot across the card.  I then used water drops to remove some of the ink.  I then went over it again with the same colors and a Kaiser Craft stencil, speckles. I also flicked white paint on the top black edge.
Using Lawn Fawn monster stamp set.  I stamped the goblins on purple designer paper and used a white gel pen to fill in the eye.  I used white embossing powder to stamp the square bats and heat set those.  Then, I used the corresponding dies to cut them out.
Using the same stamp set, I stamped the sentiment with white embossing powder on black CS.
With two shades of brown cs, I cut the spooky tree with my cricut and the Simply Scarecrow cartridge and then inked the edges with Walnut Stain ink.
I adhered everything on to a top fold black cs base lifting all the monsters on dimensional squares.

I hope you have fun playing along.

Get Well

   September 12

This is my design team card for Try Stampin (or not) on Tuesday.
The sketch is below and the them is Fall Fun.

I started with white cs that I smooshed Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo, Antique Linen, Walnut Stain and Peeled Paint.  I cut that in strips the width of the cars and attached them with spacing between.
I took the rest of the smooshed paper and cut a bunch of small leaves with a punch.
I ran the dotted white with a gel pen and then stamped the sentiment with a Hampton Arts stamp and gold embossing powder.
I then mounted all those little leaves with dimensional squares to lift them up like they're floating.

 September

This is my September card for the design team at
  Stinkin' Inkers.
The theme this month is 'YOUR FAVORITE COLOR COMBINATION'
and BLUE
is my signature color.
I love how all the distressed ink blues blend together with the transition into green.  I used a bunch: Salty Water, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron.  This was all blended on white card stock using a Darice folder.

The sentiment was stamped using an Inkadinkado Stamp and blue glitter embossing powder on a pale green vellum.

A couple of teal and green sequins for the flower centers and all adhered to a top fold black cs base.

I hope you play along.  I can't wait to see your favorite colors!

Have a great day

August 28

This my design team card for
Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday.
The sketch for this week is below and the theme is 'celebrations'

I started with yellow cs cut to card size and began to build from there.  The designer paper is from Recollections.  The two squares were cut from orange cs and I now will I used the same technique on the bottom square as the top.  I blended both Spiced Marmalade in Distress and Oxide using a stencil on the cs.  The stamp is from Inkadinkdo using black StazOn.
White satin ribbon under the paper and then I added some paper flowers.

Hello from the design team  at the
Brown Sugar Challenge.
The theme this week is

and our sponsor this week is

She is adorable ... I masked her off and then blended Blue Print Sketch, Cracked Pistachio, and Festive Berries  distress inks across the paper.  Still masked, I then used a stencil and added Spiced Marmalade Oxide.  I used color pencils to color her in.  I cut her to fit and then off set it so that I could add the sentiment which was stamped with a Hampton Arts stamp and white embossing powder. I wrapped a blue satin ribbon and bow around the graphic and mounted it on a piece of black cs to frame it.   That whole piece was adhered to teal green top fold cs base.  A few blue sequins to a tiny bit of bling to the fun and there you have it.

Hugs ......

This my design team card for Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday.
The sketch for this week is below and the theme is 'embossing'
For this card I ran white cs through my cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot folder.  On a piece of white cs, I blended Wilted Violet, Abandoned Coral and Mermaid Lagoon distress inks and then blended Wilted Violet, Broken China and Peeled Paint Oxide inks over top.  I used Simon Says butterfly dies to cut the background butterfly and then the scrolled butterfly was cut from silver card stock.
I had a piece of pink and white grosgrain ribbon and attached that to the white swissdot cs. I attached the butterflies just in the body center so that it will lift off of the card.
Then sentiment was cut from a piece of scrap pink cs using the Simon Says 'Big Hugs' die.
All of this attached to a dark pink top fold cs base.

Birthday Fishes

This is my design team card for
  Stinkin' Inkers Challenge Blog.
The theme this month is "Guy Talk".

In keeping with my personal challenge of only using my scrap box from my clean up (and believe you me, that's a lot of scrap)  I found this paper and fish in the bottom of the bin.  The paper comes from a very very old pad.
Starting with a white cs base, I covered with the fishing lure paper.  I stamped on a piece of silver cs the HB sentiment with black StazOn and then added a stripe of teal cs across the bottom.
The fish was supplied by the same pad as a bonus and I added that with foam squares to pop it up from the card.

I hope you have fun playing along with us at Stinkin' Inkers !!

Thank you for stopping by !!
Please feel free to leave comments, I love to hear from you.

Luau

This is my design team card for
Try Stampin' (or not) on Tuesday.
The sketch for the week is below and the theme is
  "Dog Days of Summer".

I went for a Luau Theme and continuing with my summer challenge of NOT using anything new ... it all must  come from my scrap bin ... because ... it is just out of control.
I grabbed card stock in blues from the box.  I cut the surf board and 'luau' with my cricut and the 'LUAU' cartridge.  I had a piece of orange pansies from the box as well.
I cut those in the shape of the sketch.  I grabbed a piece of darker blue and edged that with a scalloped edge punch by fiskars and topped with a piece of washi tape that seemed to all coordinate together.
All attached and glued onto baby blue cs top fold base.
A bit of sequins here and there and voila.

Here is the sketch for the week.

Have fun playing along with us ... looking forward to see what you come up with.

Have a great day ... and thanks for stopping by.

Clean up

So ..... I am in the process of attacking the challenge to clean up the craft room.  It hasn't been touched since the renovation and quite frankly .... there's stuff in here that I have absolutely no idea how it got in here.  Everything has just been piled on and piled on.  There's even a plant stand in here and a brand new empty pot waiting for a house plant ... how ... I have no idea.
I started with organizing the piles and just moving piles from one pile to another ....
paper crafts ... knitting ... sewing ... jewelry stuff ... It's over whelming.  There are bags of stuff that I bought that ... I have no idea what it was bought for.  I found clear stamps in with my scraps and dies that I bought that I never used.  So sad.
I thought I had one box of paper scraps ... I found 4 ... literally 4 boxes of scraps.

This... a combo of two containers

.

So .....................................

my goal for the next two weeks (maybe months) is to work on challenges without touching a new piece of paper ...
and so we begin ...........................

Thank youz

So I made this card and totally forgot to post about it.  It was created using a sketch "Freshly Made Sketches"  that challenge has come and gone.  It happens LOL
For the card .... I started with grey cs and ran that through my cuttle with a circle swirled folder.  From black cs I ran that through my cricut and cut the shooting star from the 'Stand and Deliver' cartridge and then stamped the 'thanks' using a Hero Arts set and silver embossing powder.
On white cs I blended Cracked Pistachio and Festive Berries and placed that in the background of the shooting star cut.  I cut a piece of teal cs to frame the black and mounted that all together.  The tag sentiment was printed on white cs and hand cut.  The edges were inked with Festive Berries then mounted with dimensional squares.  I added a big hot pink acrylic dot as embellishfun.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

City Crafter: Something with "S" - Shooting Star

Sending Smiles

This card was created using a sketch challenge and a color challenge.  This sketch is from 'CAS this Sketch' and the color challenge is from 'Double D' (black and white and a splash of color.  The paper is from Recollections.  I have a large pad of just black and white papers.  I cut that to size of the black card base.  I cut the flag out of white cs and then the two diamonds.  The smaller one I used a small hole punch to mimic the sketch and then ran the faux stitching in a white gel pen.  The sentiment was stamped in white embossing powder using a Hampton Arts rubber stamp.  I attached that to a salmon pink diamond and then used dimensional squares to raise it from the base.  I found some pink squares in my stash that have been there forever and added them to the bottom in a diamond direction.

I cut the snow drifts with a curvy edge die.  The stamp 'let it snow' is from the same stamp set and the snow man.
I flicked white paint on the navy blue card stock top fold base and added white sequins about and on the buttons of the snowman.

Laugh ....

This card is a for a sketch challenge at the Outlawz.
Using a little banner stamp, I stamped multiple flags in Peeled Paint, Broken China and Wilted Violet then fussy cut them all.
From black cs I cut the oval with a die then ran stitching around the outer edge with a pink glitter gel pen and then ran the whole piece through my cuttlebug with a swiss dot folder (that folder has been getting a lot of play this week)
On white cs, I stamped the sentiment in white embossing powder and let dry.  I then dragged it through Wilted Violet and Broken China Oxide Inks and then wiped off the color from the white embossed areas.
I glued down the twine and then added the little flags with dimensional squares to lift them up and over the twine.
I added the blue double loop ribbon to the bottom with various paper flowers to match everything going on.

Butterflies

This card was created using a sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
I smooshed both Distressed Inks and Oxide Inks onto white CS.  So many colors: I believe there's Orange Marmalade, Broken China, Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint in there in one form or the other.  I then stamped the butterfly from Inkadinkadoo with Wilted Violet Oxide on top of the smoosh and then dropped Iridescent Stickles in various spots of her body and wings.
Mounted that on to teal cs and ran faux stitching with a gold gel pen.  I cut the tag to fulfill the sketch and stamped the sentiment "Heartful Thanks" ... also from Inkadinkado ... in silver embossing powder and tucked that under the main piece.
All of this .... mounted onto blue cs.

I worked a sketch challenge for this challenge from CAS this Sketch.  The blocks for the sketch are cut from two shades of red that were left over from my butterfly.
The tree is cut from navy blue cs and a die by Penny Black ... so much detail and always a clean cut.  I used a white gel pen for the heart.
All of that adhered to white card stock where I smudged the edges with Chipped Sapphire distressed ink.
I anchored it onto a navy top fold cs base.

Smiles .....

This is my design team project for BROWN SUGAR CHALLENGE and this week it's Anything Goes ... and I think you should check out the fun ... seriously ... go check it out!

For this project I used a great paper pad by DCWV called Violet Leaf that my daughter gave me ... I just love all the gilded gold and color combos in it.  I really do.   The entire background piece is from that pad.  Also, the tag with the sentiment comes from that pad.  I just used an Inkadinkado Stamp for the sentiment in StazOn black and clear embossing powder for shine.

The stamp is from Bugaloo Stamps which I used colored pencils.  I gave her sunglasses and coated the lens with Glossy Accents.  I used Stickles on her collar for a bit of bling there too - then I popped a flower on top of the flower.
I adhered the tag with dimensional squares to give it a bit of lift and popped a color coordinated flower on as well ... added the graphic and the acrylic dots all on a teal green top fold base.

Isn't she cute???

I took another picture on a tilt so you can see all shiny stuff and that gilded gold.  I really love that pad.

Thanks for popping by .... I hope you head to Brown Sugar to take a look at this week's challenge.

boy shower

Seems to be baby season on multiple levels ...

This is my design team card for Try Stamping (on not) on Tuesday and the theme is simple and neat.

For this card I started with white cs and stamped the shower using a Hampton Arts baby set and using Tim Holtz Oxide Ink in Broken China and used clear embossing powder over it to shine it up.
I added a side panel paper of baby steps blue on blue from Mambi.  The bottom panel from Kaisercraft papers.  The little onesie was cut from white cs using the Cricut Sampler cartridge.  I hand hand edged the faux stitching with a blue marker and then ran it through my Cuttlebug using a swiss dot folder.  I adhered them all together adding the lace edging to divide and used dimensional squares on the  onesie to give it height all on a baby blue cs side fold base.

Be Happy ...

This is my design team card for Try Stamping (or Not) on Tuesday.  The theme is summer splendor and the sketch is down below.

I started with a small piece of card stock and smudged Spiced Marmalade, Broken China, Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint.  Once that was dry I stamped the sentiment with black StazOn.   Cut that down to match the sketch.

Using pink, purple and teal card stock I formed the sketch.  I ran the pink flag through the cuttlebug with a swiss dot folder.
I cut a piece of designer paper from Recollections in orange and white for the background and adhered the entire piece with dimensional tape onto a darker pink cs top fold base.
A few violet sequins bling here and there to give it a bit of shine.

Thinking

A very simple CAS card.  I love this technique ... I masked off the bottom sections and  I used a fiskers stamp ( Petals from Scratch) and repeated it all around.   I used a white crayon to color in the petals.  I then smudged peeled paint, broken china and marmalade onto the stamped area.  Rub over the crayon to remove any color that may have covered the petals.  I used a Hampton Arts rubber stamp with gold embossing powder and then I used a gold mylar edge sticker to divide the color with the cream.

I would love to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

Adventures

This card was a bit of an adventure .... I started with Kraft CS.  I cut the printed velum to go over the kraft.  Using the rustic printed paper, I cut that using a curved stitched die for the side panel.  I love the hinges that I used for this card- another die and I covered them in glossy accents.   The stamp is from Fiskars and I used Black StazOn right on the velum.

All of this adhered onto a cream top fold CS base.
