Feathered Birthday Hugs

This is a card for a special friend.

Using white card stock for the base and layer, I blended distress Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Broken China and Walnut Stain on a scrap piece of paper and cut the feathers with a die by Simon Says.
I did the same with the sentiment. I blended Broken China and Peacock Feathers and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Big Hugs die from Simon Says.
Tacking that all down, I edge the entire layer with Broken Glass, tied some twine and added teal blue sequins.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges.

Good Luck !!

This is just plain fun.
Yes, all this fun using Fantastix Inks in Blue, Green, Teal and Silver.

First I squeezed a handful of shaving cream onto a paper plate.  Next I randomly dropped dots of ink onto the shave cream.  With the back end of a paint brush, I swirled the ink around the cream.  I dropped the piece of card stock onto the cream/inked mixture and lifted the gloppy mess.  I used a piece of cardboard to scrape off the shave cream and was left with these swirls of fun.
I had washi tape in teal and dots that I ran across the lower portion and stamped the sentiment onto white card stock using distressed Broken China and popped it our with a punch and attached with dimensional tape.

Lots of fun with this one and I love that you have absolutely no idea of how the ink will transfer to the paper.

This is the ink I used in the shave cream.

April Madness

So so  many birthdays in April.
Who'd a thunk?
For this one, I started with a left over piece that was blended with distress inks for another card.  A piece of scrap actually (using resources wisely). I cut the edge with scallops and dots and then stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and clear embossing powder to raise it up just a bit.
I ran cream card stock with a flower all over embossing folder through my cuttlebug and rounded off the 4 corners.  I tied some blue twine around the sentiment and attached it with dimensional tape. I glued all of that to a piece of peacock blue card stock to frame it off and then onto a cream card base.

Twins

A pair of cards for my favorite set of twins in the world.  I gave a new embossing folder a try through the machine and it was just sitting on my work table waiting for something to happen.   It sat there for almost a week when I finally reached for it.  I used my dauber and a stack of Tim Holtz distressed inks hit them hard using Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint, Orange Marmalade, Vintage Photo and Broken China.   The sentiment is on velum paper using black embossing powder.  I tried a black ink with clear powder but it didn't bring out the image dark enough to stand out on it's own.  I added sequins to various centers of the folder image.  Edged with distressed inks (raspberry for one, marmalade for the other) and attached onto cream card bases.
Each are just a little different but yet the same - both here and in true to life.  These will head out in the mailpost next weekend for the birthday celebrations.

This is a close up of one of them.  I really love the way that they turned out.  I'm looking forward to lots of fun with this embossing folder.

I would like to add these to the following challenges:

Happy 3rd

This is for a little boy.  Using the sketch for Mojo Monday .... I Started with baby blue card stock, I ran that through my cuttlebug with a Swiss Dot folder.  I then cut a smaller square of printed mylar dots for the next layer.  On top of that I cut a lime green square and adhered a cute monkey sticker that I had in my stash.  From matching red stock I ran that through my Cricut cutting three with the Plantin School House to get the number 3 and then ran one of the threes through my cuttlebug with the swiss dot.  From a slightly darker green I cut the flag and stamped Happy Birthday and set that with gold embossing powder to tie in the mylar paper. Using my fiskers punch, I popped a couple of stars to complete the sketch and then covered them with glossy accents.
This one will need to get into the mail in the next couple of days to get there in time.
Happy Birthday Ethan.

NEON wishes

Using a collection and sketch challenge for this.   I started with black card stock it to size for the card.  I the cut three different banners of stars in the neon orange, pink and green papers using the Stand and Salute cartridge and my Cricut. I weaved, locked and glued them onto the black  I stamped the sentiment using momento black onto velum paper and wrapped it around the black piece.   I took one of the star pieces from the interior of the border and glued that on the velum and the topped it with glossy accents.  All of this adhered to a white base.

Just For You

For this card I started with a scrap of white and used my iridescent water colors and broad bushed some teal blue.  After this dried, I stamped a small flow randomly using distressed inks in abandoned coral, picked raspberry and fired brick.   Once dry I popped it with my circle punch and brushed the edge in peacock feathers.
I had a pretty pink and white stripe paper and rounded the corners.  I stamped and edged the sentiment on a small piece of white using peacock feathers to tie the pieces together and attached the circle with dimensional tape and then added three paper flowers.  All on a Pink card base.

Happy Anniversary

This card is for my nephew and his wife. They will be celebrating their third anniversary this spring.  Starting with white card stock I cut the heart with Spellbinders heart die.  I placed a piece of printed acetate from Recollections over the opening.    I cut the number three using my 'Jasmine' cartridge on my  Cricut three times to stack them.   I filled the area in the heart with green and iridescent sequins.  I closed the shaker with more white card stock.  I stamped the sentiment with hickory smoke distressed ink.   I added the green ribbon for the color of their wedding and then added some Studio G gems for some bling.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges:

Thank you very much
Stay warm everyone.

Thinking of you.

I really loved how this one made it to the end.  I started with white card stock and smudged some distress inks on my work sheet using Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Peeled Paint.  I dragged the paperwork through a couple of times, drying in between dredges.  Once it was completely dry I used a cluster of stamps from Fiskars (there are 4 in all) in StayzOn Brown and then let that dry really well.
While that was drying, I cut a scrap of Kraft paper and used two different edge punches one a Martha Stewart and the other a Fiskars.  I attached that onto a white card base.   I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of velum and wrapped/ adhered that to the stamp image.  Using dimensional tape, that went on to the card base as well.
I cropped the corners and have it ready to go on it's merry way.

Get Well

I worked this card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketched.  Starting with a piece of patterned paper in pastel graphic. And adhered that to the white card base.  I then cut pink card stock and cut that to the sketch.  I then ran that through my cuttlebug using a Swiss dot folder.  Using a piece of baby blue card stock I stamped the sentiment using peacock feathers and then edged it using the same ink..I lifted both the pink Swiss dot and the sentiment using deminsional tape to give it all depth.

I stamped a border of triangles with white embossing powder to the bottom repeadedly.   I then stamped 'you rock' with pink embossing powder.   I popped out a handful of stars with a punch and puffed them up with glossy accents and set them to dry.  I added the orange ribbon and the added the puffed stars with dimensional tape.

Weather

This sudden change in weather has sent my muse
off on vacation.
I bet she's sunning herself on some exotic island in the warm sun while I sit here staring at my craft table with the blank gaze.
Come on girl ... bring it on back now ... we have things to do!!
