Peaceful mandela

Hello ...this originalted with a sketch challenge but I sat on this too long and missed it ... it happens ...

I started with a piece of scrap (don't we all LOL) and I blended distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean.  I then cut a circle with a circle die out of black card stock.
The other piece is actually a snow flake from circut and I glued that on top of the cut circle.
The glitter strip was the hardest piece I think ... cutting a quarter of the width from a piece of length.  It originally covered the snow flake but it looked way too busy -- I gently pulled it off and cut it to the edge of the die cut.
The sentiment was printed with white embossing powder using a stamp set by Stampalicious.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Spring

Hello from the Design Team of
Give a Crafter a Cookie
The Theme this round is SPRING
and our sponsor is Little Blue Button.

Isn't she a cutie ... I printed the stamp on white card stock and colored her with markers and pencils.
The word 'spring' is computer generated.  I stamped the 'happy' on black cs with white embossing powder and trimmed it down tight and raised it with dimensional tape.  I mounted that onto pink card stock but before I pulled out an oldie from my drawer and use a Martha Stewart laced edge punch.  The plaid designer paper is from Recollections that I had in my stash.
All mounted on a lavender cs side fold base.  Once together I added a couple of paper flowers from Recollections and some Nuvo drops in cream.

Thanks for stopping by ... I hope you give the challenge a try and I wish you luck as well.

Dragonfly flies

Hello everyone ...

I am so honored to be the guest designer for

  THROUGH THE CRAFT ROOM DOOR.

Oh what fun !!
The digi stamp is from Small and Round - Jeremiah Ketner called Dragonfly.

On the front I used:
My Favorite Things -Flutter of Butterflies ( I used three) cut from white card stock and the centers from black card stock  I colored the butterflies with a water brush and Distress Ink: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and Picked Raspberry.
I then topped all of the butterflies and centers with a Wink of Stella.
The window and frame was cut from purple card stock and a die set from My Favorite Things
The sentiment is a stamp set from Stampendous - Birthday Assortment and I used silver embossing powder.
Nuvo drops in Duck Egg Blue, Bubblegum Blush and Apple Green.

On the inside I used :
the image was colored with colored pencils.  Her teal hair strip, dress top, dragonfly and stars are all topped with a Wink of Stella then set on a piece of black cs to frame it.
The interior has a cut piece of purple card stock.
Both sentiments are from Stampendous - Birthday Assortment
All on a black side fold card stock base.

Again, I am so tickled and honored for this opportunity.

Quilted Rooster ................

The colors for this card ... packs so much fun !! The stamp is from Beccy's Place.
I used Sharpies ! Bright Bold Sharpies.  Once I finished coloring, I used a large circle die on it.  I then used an orange sharpie to add the faux stitching.  I cut another circle larger out of yellow cs to frame it.
With a piece of lime green cs .. I ran that over my score board to give that green a bit more texture. All was stacked onto a piece of bold blue cs top fold base.
The birthday sentiment was stamped with Wilted Violet distress ink - with a stamp set by Stampendous (Birthday Assortment), cut with a banner flag die and edged with Wilted Violet as well   I added faux stitching with a white gel pen, matching paper flowers, orange and lime green Neuvo drops and buttons to match.

Cute or Die ...............

I had this stamp in my stash for a while.  It's from OddBall Art Company.  I was just waiting for the opportunity to pull it out.  A bit of of of .... let's say different.

I used color pencil and markers on the image (s).  I used a stitched oval to set the bunny in the sketch.   I inked the edge of the oval with Spun Sugar distress ink.  I then cut the bottom portion of the image and set that in a hand cut flag and again brushed Spun Sugar in the edge and raised with dimensional tape.
With my cricut I cut a large 3 inch pointed 'blast' from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge with grey cs and then ran stitch marks by hand with a white gel pen.
The background grey dotted paper is from American Crafts and the paper for the side flags behind the oval is also from American Crafts.
I added pink Neuvo drops, small paper flowers and iridescent sequins on top.  All set on a side fold grey cs base.
I really really get a kick out of this artist - zombie critters and all.

Good Egg

Hello everyone .....
This is my card for the challenge at

We are having a sketch challenge this week with an optional twist of Easter.

For my card, I started with a stamp and die set by Neat and Tangled which I colored with markers.
The sentiment is also from the same set.
I cut and oval and oval frame from a die out of two shades of blue cardstock. and then stacked my little duckie with the ovals.
I then cut the scalloped piece using a die from Art-C (Thinking of You).  I smudged distress ink in Blueprint Sketch and Faded Jeans to give it a denim look - then ran faux stitching using a white gel pen.    The glitter flag under the scallop is glitter washi tape cut to size and tipped by hand.
I then cut another layer piece from a darker cs using a stamp edge die from Spellbinders.
The printed paper is from Recollections.
All stacked on top of one another on a navy cs top fold base.
A couple of blue and gold sequins and clear gems in the corner and it's done.
I hope you play along with us on this challenge.  Again, see the sketch below to play.

Rainbow Horray !!!!!

Hello ... I have a new card today ...
Rainbow Horray !! Let there be cake !!

For this card, I started with white card stock and using a water brush painted the order of colors of the rainbow.  I then sprayed some Heidi Swapp glitter spray over the painted area.
Using a My Favorite Things die 'Hooray' I placed it over the colored area and cut away.
I placed the die cut over the front to mark where I wanted placement.
I then stamped the 'cake and ice cream' using a stamp from Stampolicious, Broken China distressed ink and clear embossing powder to give it shine.
I then bent the 'hooray' over the stamped sentiment and glued it down in place.
Next, using markers and a ruler ... I ran stripes of the rainbow out of the die cut to the edge.
I added the 5 rainbow sequins next to the color in the die.
All of this was mounted on a top fold white cs base.

Birthday card ready to go ....

March Washi

This is my Design Team Card for the month of March with
Stinkin Inkers.

And the theme this month is

Break out your washi tape and have fun.

This card starts with grey card stock.  I ran peach and teal washi tape on the diagonal.
Using a Spellbinders heart die set.  I cut both that back and scrolled top out of the same grey card stock.   On the base of the full heart I matched up the teal washi tape and then anchored the scrolled heart on top of that.
I stamped the 'hello' with VersaMark and silver embossing powder.
I anchored the heart to match the diagonal of the washi and used dimensional tape to lift it off of the base.   I went over the scroll work with wink of stella.
All of this was anchored onto a teal cs top fold card base.

Tic Tac Troll

This card is my design team card for
We have a TIC TAC TOE challenge this month.
My favorite.
The game piece is below.

For my card I went with the top row: ribbon or twine, coloring and glitter.
The stamp is from Bugaboo and I used markers to color her in.  The balloon was cut with a Simon Says balloon die and overlaid the balloon in the stamp.  I dipped that balloon in glue and dragged it through hot pink fine glitter and let it dry completely and then did it again.  That balloon has a lot of texture from the glue and glitter layers. I cut the stamp down and set it onto dark purple cs for framing.  I then wrapped a purple satin ribbon bow around the bottom.
I stamped the sentiment with a Hampton Arts rummber stamp, VersaMark and silver embossing powder.  Then, punched it out with a inch and a half punch from Recollections.
The designer paper is from Simple Stories.
All set on a dark purple side fold base.

March Fairy

Hello from the design team  at the
Brown Sugar Challenge.
The theme this week is
 Spring or Easter
and our sponsor this week is
For this pretty stamp I used colored pencils on her.  I then started on the front. I smudged and blended Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Broken China in both distress and oxide inks. I stamped on top of that with a background stamp by Fiskers - using Broken China, Peeled Paint and Wilted Violet oxide.   I used a postage stamp edge die cut on it from Spellbinders.  I framed the image with blue card stock - rounded the top corners and then mounted it on the smudged die front.  The banner was stamped with a set from Fiskars using VersaMark and gold embossing powder.  I found some gold mylar stickers in my stash and used two long swirls along the one side and the two squared hearts on the flag.  Some Nuvo drops in the corners and it's complete.
I hope you decided to join us on this challenge and I wish you luck as well.

Lucky Bear

This is my design team contribution for
The Theme is 'LOTS OF GREEN'

The digi stamp is 'Teddy without'
I water colored the bear with distress inks and a water pen which made him look so fluffy.
I used Lucky Clover, Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn.  For the hearts I used a red marker. I dropped Nuvo in the eyes and tied a green satin ribbon bow for the head.
I used my stacked circle dies to cut the bear and a frame circle out of black cs.
I found this sheet of pattern paper in my stash (and I have a bunch - I honestly don't know how it got so big - the stash I mean) I don't know where it's from - it's in the same two shades of green.
The sentiment tag attached with dimensional tap and lime green Nuvo drops in the corners and the edge of the circle completes the fun.  All set on a black top fold cs base.

Thanks for popping by for a visit.  I hope you play along in the challenge and wish you luck if you do.

Happy Yay !!

Hello everyone, it's time for our monthly technique challenge at

This month we are embracing embossing
both wet and dry.
If this is something new for you, just head on over to the blog
for a link to a wonderful tutorial so you can give it a try with us.

For my design team addition to the fun:
I started with kraft card stock and used a YAY script die from My Favorite Things and cut that on an angle.  I then ran it through my machine with a wood grain embossing folder.  I then sponged some Vintage Photo distress ink over it to bring out the grain.
With a piece of white scrap I blended Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass and Shaded lilac (seems to be my favorite combo for the past few).  I tucked that under the die cut and saved a piece for the tag which is also a stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I used Vintage Photo again on the sentiment and then some clear embossing powder to give it some definition.   I attached the whole piece to a kraft top fold base with dimension tape and then added clear Nuvo drops to the banner and top corner.

I hope you play along for the fun ...

Before I attached all the papers I die cut the base with a dotted edge die from Neat and Tangled.
The flag was colored with red marker and edged with Faded Jeans distress ink.
All attached to a grey top fold base.
A few black giant gems and a bunch of clear nuvo drops around here and there.
