Just Because ----- Plaid

This card is for a great sketch on Try Stamping (or Not) on Tuesday with an optional theme of 'plaid or checkerboard' #311.   Come along and play .............
I found a scrap piece of pretty yellow and white plaid paper, so soft and happy from DCWV.
The sentiment was cut from light lavender cs on my Cricut using "Lyrical Letters' cartridge as well as the framed leaf.
The bright yellow cs was run through my cuttlebug using a Darice folder of woodgrain.
All of this backed with a darker purple cs and base.   A couple of purple sequins for blingage.

Here is the sketch for Try Stamping on Tuesday ....

I hope you have fun playing along ...

I would also like to add this card to the following challenges if I may

Single Layer ....

There was a time that I wouldn't go near a single layer challenge.  I would always end up making a mistake and tossing it.  Slowly, I began to tame that fear.
I grabbed a piece of scrap paper and cut a circle with a punch.  I taped that down onto a piece of white card stock base and sponged the interior of the circle with Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey.  I then took the cut circle and covered the sponged sun and began on the background with sponging Chipped Sapphire, Weather Wood, Stormy Sky, tumbled Glass, Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles and Forest Moss.
The flower stamp set is from Inkadinkadoo.  I stamped the various grasses and wild flower silhouettes.  I darkened a couple of flowers with a fine point marker to bring them forward in the landscape.
The sentiment was stamped with Black StazOn.

I would like to add this card to the following challenges if I may:

Using the photo inspiration from Addicted to Stamps and the Sketch from CAS this sketch this was the end result.
This is a make combining a few challenges.
I started with work on the ombre ... I started with water colors and viridian  green.  I didn't get the blend and bleed that I was hoping for so I added evergreen bough to blend it more.
I then cut that piece with a die from Art-C.
I then cut a piece of black and white strip paper from Recollections and then stamped the flowers from Fiskars ( Petals from Scratch ) with the same color of evergreen bough.
All of this mounted on a top fold teal card stock base.
I then ran some faux stitches on the interior of the die cut piece and along the outer edge of the card base.
The Big Hugs was cut from Simon Says Die in black card stock and then some added diamond bling from my favorite stones.

Meow

Here's a cute little Tiger Kitty that was water colored.  The kitty and meow stamp are together in the set by Recollections.  The two orange dotted papers are from Simple Stories.  I'm giving that pad a work out.
The oval was cut with my cuttlebug with a stitched oval die.
I rounded off the corners and then scored the side bar of Kraft.  Then faux stitched all around the papers.
All attached onto some Kraft CS with some Kraft colored bakers twine.
Cute wittle kitty kitty.

Baby Blue

I totally thought I posted this one ... my bad.  This is for the sketch on  Try Stamping (or not) on Tuesday.

The printed piece if from MambiSheets Baby Boy.  I love this pad - use it often and bought a few :) so I have lots of scraps in my box.
I backed that piece with navy cs.  With my Cricut I cut the baby carriage with the Sampler Cartridge and then cut the shadow for that out of the same navy to tie it together and hand faux stitched with the lighter blue cut interior pieces.
The letters BOY were cut with the Lyrical Letters Cartridge.
Those two pieces I glued onto a textured baby blue piece (which you really can't see in this picture) and then all of that was put onto a baby blue cs base to match the front panel.

This was a fun sketch to work with.  Come join in the fun!!

Thanks for looking .....

It's Been Forever .......

Starting with water color paper ...  I broke out my Winton and Newton water colors which I haven't had out in a while.  Mounting that onto my clipboard ...  I stack painted all the blues and greens.  I dried that very well.  I then applied Heidi Swapp Metallic Texture Paste in silver.  I dried that very well too then gave the piece a bit of a trim.
From black card stock, I ran a piece through my cuttlebug using a swirled folder.   I added the watercolor piece off set to the right.
Using velum, I stamped the sentiment (Hampton Arts) with black StazOn. I wrapped that around the front panel and then mounted it all onto a top fold black card stock base.

Sending Smiles

Pulling coordinating papers from a pad from Simple Stories, I grabbed the green large dots and the green zigzag.  I cut these to coordinate with the sketch challenge.
From a piece of kraft, I cut it with an oval stitch die and stamped it with a Hampton Arts stamp and Walnut Stain Ink and clear embossing powder.  I mounted the oval with dimensional tape and added a couple of matching flowers.
All of this mounted to a top fold Kraft base.

This is a color challenge as well ....
With a cricut embossing flower folder, I started with white card stock.  I blended Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Shaded Lilac, Stormy Sky, Cracked Pistachio and Antique Lined.  I then added glossy accents to the flower centers for some bling and shine.
From a small piece of white, I stamped the sentiment with Shaded Lilac and clear embossing powder for shine and cut that with a circle punch edging that as well with Shaded Lilac.  Attached with dimensional tape.
The blue ribbon is glitter and attached on the back of the panel.  The purple is actually glitter tape.
All of this was mounted on a top fold lavender card stock.

This card started with a stamp from Bugaboo Stamps.  I thought it was on card stock but was on white paper so I used colored pencils.   The front panel was white card stock that I blended Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick.
The sentiment, Hampton Arts, was printed in the corner with Fired Brick and clear embossing powder.
This was all mounted on cherry red card stock top fold with a couple of large enamel dots to finish off the sketch.

Thinking of you

This was a challenge of the color fern.  I knew I had a piece somewhere in my room but couldn't find it.  After much digging, I found and old 12x12 pad that I had forever that had the color.  The only name on the front of the pad was Cartulina Texturizada.  It's a pad of solid colors and texture on one side and smooth on the other.   It's also white core and probably why it was on the bottom of the drawer.
On a small piece of white card stock I secured a stencil and blended so many inks .... Forest Moss, Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough, Crushed Olive and Old Paper.
From the fern card stock, I used a Penny Black fancy edge die (and had to ink the edge because of the white core) in the small loops, I used a Q tip.  Probably not the best choice of stock to use with a die but I needed that color.  LOL.
The butterflies were punched out of a scrap piece of designer paper to pull the mint and chocolate into the mix.
The tag was cut cut from a chocolate piece of card stock from the same pad.  I was going to mount it on the chocolate but didn't like the look.  I again had to edge the piece because of the white core.
The sentiment (a stamp from Hampton Arts) was stamped in embossing ink and gold powder.
All of this was mounted on cream card stock with a top fold.  Added blink was a big white enamel dot.

Enamel dots. Obsessed

So................................................
I was floating around YouTube when the gears of my cuttlebug fell out last weekend.
I found an amazing post on how to fix it (see like in post below) but in the process of searching I stumbled upon a video about pony beads.
She was melting them to make enamel dots. I thought damn -- I have bags and bags and bags of pony beads from scouts - glitter ones- frosted ones- holiday- tons.  So I thought this morning I would give it a try.  I lined my baking sheet with foil just in case and then cut some parchment paper.
I melted 2 full trays in under 30 minutes and they just slid off the paper too.  400 degrees for 10 minutes and I'm obsessed.

give it a try .... I did ... and wow ... I have a a zip lock full of enamel dots.
Can't wait to try PERLER beads next ... yea buddy.

Happy Day of Love

I think this will be my last Valentine Day's Card for the season ... There have been plenty this year that's for sure .... it was so much fun making them.
I started with a piece of designer paper from American Craft that I ran through my Cricut cutting the XOXOXOXOXOXO using an oldie but my absolute fav ... Plantin Schoolbook.
Then with a small piece of white scrap, I smudged reds ... Worn Lipstick and Fired Brick.
I cut two hearts from the same die from Spellbinders .. one in a darker red cs and the smudged to back it.
I mounted this a a piece of black cs and added the satin ribbon and bow ... all of which went on the same red card stock as the heart with rounded corners.

Starry Blue Wishes

I am so excited to say that I am working on the Design Team for Try Stamping (or not) on Tuesday.

This is the sketch for my first post with an optional theme of 'I wish....'
I started with white cs and blended different shades of blue distressed inks ... my original thought was to have each star in a blended look ... but when they were cut ... each star was their own color ... which is fine.  I covered the stars with embossing ink and clear embossing powder to give them shine.   I cut the stars with my Cricut and the 'Stand and Salute' cartridge.
I cut the blue cs with a wavy stitched die and then ran it through with a dotted embossing folder on my cuttlebug.  I attached that to white cs leaving just a little edge to frame.
The sentiment was stamped with Broken China and clear embossing powder and a Studio112 Stamp.
Adding a couple of blue sequins for bling makes it complete.

Here is the sketch for Try Stamping Tuesday

Well Wishes .....

Here is a get well card using multiple papers.
Working on mint green cs I adhered multiple pieces ... the orange and blue stitched, the multi color circles and the pink stripes all from Recollections that I had in my drawer forever.
The strip piece I cut with a wavy stitch die.
From the same mint and peachy pink cs I cut a circle combo with my Cricut and the Accent Essentials cartridge ... which actually matched the paper ... score!
Before I glues the two circle pieces together I stamped the sentiment with Abandoned Coral Distress and Clear Embossing Powder.
I adhered the circles with dimensional square tape and added some cute paper flowers from Recollections.
All mounted on a mint green cs base.

Valentines

Here is yet another Valentine Card ... so so so many this season.
I went into my paper drawer ... found this paper of hearts in red and pink  ... I believe is a Recollections piece. I cut that down to fit.
From both black and white cs ... I cut a bubble edge with a Fiskars edger.
From another piece of black cs I cut LOVE with my Cricut (which is getting a workout since my Cuttlebug was indisposed) with the Sampler Cartridge.
I trimmed them all up a bit so that they can frame each other and all mounted onto a black cs base.
Happy Valentine's Day !!

This card starts with ..... white card stock that I blended my inks of Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon.
From black card stock I cut that smaller background using a Martha Stewart (all over the page punch)  I miss these.
I die cut the :hello: and the butterfly with the Cricut and the Lyrical Letters Cartridge -  out of orange card stock.
I wrapped the grosgrain ribbon in orange polka dot around the front panel.
All mounted on white card stock.

Here is Saturday card that needs posting before it's too late.

I'll be back in a minute to update this --

well ... back.  I just had to get that up in time ... the weather was just so amazing at 84 degrees ... I had to grab some of it before winter came back.

Starting with white card stock, I ran that through the cuttlebug with a flower folder and finger daubed the colors of the challenges on there.
From a scrap piece of white I stamped the sentiment with Orange Marmalade and clear embossing powder.
Mounting that onto a magenta? piece that I faux stitched with a gel pen.  Popped that on an angle for the sketch and wrapped mint jute around.  Then various sizes of mint gems.
All mounted on mint card base.

Full Moon Madness

All right -All right - All right
Time for this madness to come to a stop 😩
Let's start with Thursday.  I have a first year birthday this weekend and I like to makes cards that coordinate with the theme - which for this is pink and gold.
I emboss the background - I cut the number one cut with the cricut - I get everything together and I go to die cut with my cuttle bug.  Mind you I just embossed with it - but I pick it up to move it in front of me and the gear falls out.  OOOO MMMM GGGG
I flip it over - I turn it around and I can't figure out how to get in the thing.
I start looking for a replacement - no one and I mean no one carries a cuttlebug or big shot - all have to be ordered online.
Sooooooooo to YouTube I go.
I wanted to send a shout out to Kill O Byte for helping me through that chaos here is his video

So now - with my cuttlebug put together - we are an hour to birthday time on the Saturday
I edge my "1" with clear ink to emboss with gold and my damn heat gun is out 😳
SERIOUSLY
Let the scramble begin and the madness stop

Locked Hearts

It was a busy weekend ... this card is has three interlocking hearts to work with the Fusion Challenge.  I cut the hearts using my Cricut and the Sampler cartridge.  The XOXO was stamped using gold embossing powder.  The stamp itself is a mounted stamp from the bargain bin and is one of my favorites.
All mounted on white card stock which is on a black card stock base.  I brushed the edges of the white card stock with Fired Brick.
