Following Dreams
There was just so much to this ... but a little bit of patience and boom ... Big Ba Da Boom.
I love how it came out.
First, I started with white cs ... I blended, painted and smooshed tons of ink - in both distressed and oxide ... just to name a few .... Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade - lots of water, lots of squish, lots of dry ... water brush - dry, squish - dry. Once I had the coverage I wanted .... next layer, I stamped with Spiced Marmalade Oxy and a Hero arts Spiced Market background stamp. Next layer, I used a Kaiser Craft stencil (Moroccan tiles) and teal blue metallic texture paste by Heidi Swapp. I added some accents with green Nuvo Drops in the corners and let all that self dry for a bit ..... a long bit.
I stamped the sentiment (from Recollections) with black StazOn onto white vellum and folded that over the top. I secured that onto orange cs and then onto mint green side fold cs base. Once set, I added some lavender sequins about. I know just who will get this one!
I would like to add this card in the following card challenges if I may - pretty please.

The balloons were cut with a die set from Simon Says.
The coordinated printed paper is from Simple Stories.
The number 3 was stamped with a number set from Fiskars and white embossing powder.
All mounted onto a side fold white card stock base.

METAL
This card is for the sketch challenge at TRY STAMPING (OR NOT) ON TUESDAY-with an optional theme using metal.
I started with a piece of scrap card stock (I think it's actually yellow?) and I covered it with aluminium foil. I ran that piece through my machine with a block embossing folder.
I cut a piece of blue block designer paper from Recollections and mounted that onto a scrap piece of blue cs.
The sentiment was stamped on a punched circle with a Recollections stamp with Blueprint Sketch distressed ink and then also covered with clear embossing paper to heat set - then edged it as well with the same color.
I added two big black and silver speckle acrylic dots and a plain white dot for big blingage.
All of this set on a black cs side fold base.
Here is the sketch so you can play along.

Some Bunny Wuvs You
For this cute kids Valentine, I started with a graphic from 'From the Heart' and a sketch challenge from Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch below). Such a cute wittle bunny. I used colored pencils and markers with the coloring.
I cut the bunny with a circle die just big enough to get all.
I had some small little 4 inch doilies left over from the holiday from Wilton (yes, I'm a craft horder and thought I could use them somewhere/somehow) and the circle I cut just fit perfectly over the doily.
I cut a piece of pink plaid printed paper and rounded the corners with my chomper.
The sentiment was colored with markers in different shades of pink.
I added a very think white satin ribbon and bow and white pearls to the corners.
Here is the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

2 Fer January
Using the challenge at Two Fer ... Feathers ...
this is what I came up with.
I used the same image from Paper Smooches and the same embossing folder from Cricut.
this is what I came up with.
I used the same image from Paper Smooches and the same embossing folder from Cricut.
For this card, I blended all my green distressed inks onto a piece of scrap and used water to distress it a bit.
I then cut a piece of white cs to fit the front and using a Spellbinders Heart die cut the heart in the center and then running it through with a Cuttlebug folder 'divine swirl'
The digi is from PaperSmooches and I hand painted the birds again with all shades of green distress inks.
The small heart at the top is pinched and stacked and then topped with stickles.
The sentiment is edged in Twisted Citron.
All mounted on a green top fold base.
|
I cut white cs to fit the front and ran it through with a Cuttlebug folder 'divine swirl
The banner is edged in Picked Raspberry.
The cord is silk which was more trouble than I expected in that it wouldn't knot and it frayed (badly).
All mounted on a pink top fold base.

Gold Hellos
This Hello is for you.
This was put together using a sketch challenge by Sketch Saturday (sketch below)
I started with white cs and 5 Distress Oxides: Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Peeled Paint, Broken China and Wilted Violet. Using just a very small acrylic block with some ink and water: I squished it on the white. I trimmed it down and rounded the corners and let it dry completely.
On black card stock, I stamped the sentiment 'hello' from Recollections and gold embossing powder. I trimmed that piece as well and anchored the rainbow piece on top.
I wrapped some pale pink silk yarn around and tied it in a knot. I had to secure the knot with a dab of glue.
I then trimmed down a piece of gold cs from Recollections and rounded the corners and anchored everything on top. From some of the trim, I cut the flag to go with the sketch and the set everything on top of of a black front.
A couple of paper flowers added and then everything set on a top fold black cs base.
Here is the sketch from 'Sketch Saturday'

Valentine Tuesday
This card is for the sketch challenge at
TRY STAMPING (OR NOT) ON TUESDAY the challenge is Tic Tac Toe. |
I started with black cs and used a back ground stamp - a texture cling stamp by Orchid Designs and used VersaMark Ink with white embossing powder.
I then used a white texture paste (with a gloss shine that isn't captured with the camera) and a bubble stencil in the two corners.
The heart is cut with a dual die by Spellbinders. The fancy scroll part was cut with designer pink plaid paper by DCW and the base heart was cut with pale pink cs.
The sentiment was stamped on the same pale pink cs with a Hampton Arts Rubber Stamp with StazOn Black Jet and Clear embossing powder to give a shine and dimension.
I then cut the edge with a Martha Stewart Daisy Dot edge punch and added two black gems for bling.
All of this set on a regular pink cs side fold base.
Thanks for stopping by ...
Have a great day.

Do more of what you love.
This stamp is from Tiddly Inks and I used color pencils on it. I hit her hat, the bow on her dress, the tip of the paint brush and the heart with Wink of Stella. The big bow on her hat, and all the tiny bows in her hair were covered with glossy accents. I trimmed it down and rounded the edges with my corner chomper. I then set her on to dark red piece of cs with faux stitching around the edge with a white gel pen.
The sentiment was stamped on to the same shade of that darker red card stock with a stamp from Recollections and VersaMark with gold embossing powder. I embossed it twice to get it good and thick.
I had a brighter red piece of cs ready for the face and I just laid all the elements on there.
I ran red hugs and kisses washi tape across the top so it would sit behind the sentiment and the same washi lower to sit behind the image.
I taped everything down with the sentiment square lifted with dimensional squares.
A few red sequins on the bottom corner and a few white ones on the top.
Once everything was set, I added a bunch of clear Nuvo drops around.
I want to thank you for stopping by ...

a little gift
I live by a Yankee Candle Flagship store. Every now and then they have an amazing sale and this week is one with 75% off.
I grabbed a bag full of votive candles to give as gifts.
I made this box to put it in. It just fits and is a pop out.
It's perfect.
I used light blue card stock to make the base and patterned paper from Recollections in shades of blue, white and a bit of gold to enhance.
A glitter star cut from blue glitter designer paper with my machine (using the Accent Essentials cartridge) sits on top and then tied in a pretty pale blue bow.

Burrrrrrrr ......
A cute winter burrrrrrthday card. LOL.
I started with a stamp by Bugaboo. The penguins are just too cute. I colored them with markers and pencils then I used an embossing pen to wet the top of the snow in the image and topped that with 'snow' embossing powder. I colored the sky background with blue watercolor to get that faded blue hue. I topped the penguin hats with a wink of stella for fun.
Next, I cute out of white cs the drippy snow topper with a Sizzix die and used the embossing pen again on the long drips and embossed with 'snow' embossing powder.
For the bottom, I cut a Penny Black fancy edge piece out of white cs and then added blue Nuvo drops on the center of the flowers.
The sentiment was colored with pink marker and edged with Picked Raspberry distressed ink. All of this was layered onto a dark blue front and then onto a lighter blue cs top fold card base.
Hoping the birthday is chill !

The inspiration challenge this round is a Thank You.
I started with white cs and a very cute digi stamp from Bugaboo that I used both markers and colored pencils. I framed that with black card stock. I added some clear wink of stella over the image to give is a bit of sparkle and pop.
I found a piece of scrap peach orange floral from DCW which was off set behind the image. I grabbed another piece of orange that I stamped with a background cling stamp by Prima and Vintage Photo distressed ink. I set that off set again behind the paper piece.
All of this was then set on a different shade of orange cs front.
The sentiment was printed on black cs using a stamp set by Inkadinkdo using VersaMark and white embossing powder and lifted with dimensional tape.
All of this set on a top fold card base in yet another shade of orange.

Special Flowers.
Hello everyone ...
Here is my card for the first challenge of the year for TRY STAMPING (or NOT) ON TUESDAY.
Whoot whoot !!!
It is a combination card with the technique of the month which is Negative Space Coloring and the Sketch of the Week (which is pictured below).
I started with the three blocks of white card stock. I stamped the small flower and then I did a mask on that flower. I blended the three distressed dyes around the stamp and used a small detail brush to get into the small areas. I used Candied Apple, Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade inks. I dried them well with my heat gun.
I then went back over the stamped image with Versa Mark Ink and red embossing powder and heat set that. I set those over a slightly larger square to frame them out.
I found a piece of scrap in my bucket that coordinated from DCW. Yellow with little tiny orange stars and set that behind the three blocks.
On the red cs I stamped the sentiment from Hampton Arts and white embossing powder and then glued the yellow strip to the red as well. Attached all to a dark yellow cs base.
I dug out some of my large white acrylic dots that I made from melting pony beads to finish off the sketch.
Here is the sketch for you to follow along with the blog link to Try Stamping (or Not) on Tuesday.
You should give the technique and sketch a try ... it was fun!! I'd love to see what you come up with!
Have a great day and thanks for peeking.

Gray, chocolate, cream and gold with a sketch challenge to put it all together.
This sketch is from Die Cuttin' Diva's (sketch below)
I started with white card stock. I blended Pumice Stone, Antique Linen, Gathered Twigs, Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo onto the paper. I then cut the scrolled butterfly by Simon Says from that combo. On cream and grey card stock I cut the full butterfly from Simon Says and then sprayed them with Walnut Stain.
From a left over piece of gold I cut the strip to fit the base and then edged it with a Fiskars punch.
Celebrate was stamped with a Recollections stamp with VersaMark and gold embossing powder.
This was all set in place on a lite gray cs then set onto a darker gray top fold base.
Here is the sketch for you from Die Cuttin' Divas that I would like to add to the challenge.

Birthday Giraffe
This one is for 2 ... 2 Giraffes and 2nd birthday. The giraffe stamps are by Bugaboo. They are so cute. I used color pencils and markers on them. I also used the sketch challenge by "Less is More" for this card.
The designer paper card stock is from Recollections. I cut that to match the sketch. I cut the giraffes into two and peeked them out of the circles in different directions.
A bit of faux stitching around the edge with a brown marker. The number '2' was cut on my machine with the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. I cut 2 of the 2's - one slightly larger to shadow it but in the same color. I used glossy accents on the top 2 to give it a puffed acrylic look.
The sentiment is from 'ArtC' and I used StazOn in Timber Brown and then heat set that with clear embossing powder to give it a bit of shine and accent.
It took a hot minute for all of that glossy accent to dry.
Off it goes for a January birthday .....
Thanks for peeking in and stopping by ....

Happy Banners
Happy Banners for the New Year this my design team card for ...........................
STINKIN' INKERS
January Challenge "It's a Banner Year"
........................................
I started with salmon pink card stock base. Using a curved stitch die I cut the designer pink flower paper.
With a mini Hampton Arts pennant stamp I stamped a pennant for each letter using Mermaid Lagoon distressed ink.
I grabbed my gold gel pen and wrote each letter by hand and glued them to the curved edges of the base. I then connected them with the same gel pen with loops and squiggles.
Glittery blue grosgrain ribbon cut to look like long side sitting pennants were added to the top and bottom and then anchored with large blue glitter acrylic dots that I handmade from pony beads.
Faux stitching around the edge with the gold gel pen and then anchored onto a black cs top fold card base.

The Stork Circle tag was cut from pink cs with my Cricut using the Sampler cartridge (the negative is what I used for the mask).
The designer paper is from DCW and I cut that with wavy edge stitched die ...with ... a baby pink bow and ribbon for accent.
All attached to a white top fold cs base.
